Shree Krishna Primary School

This is Bishwakala Adhikari our new teacher. When we visit in May we will take a picture of her with her new class. Here, our children are taking part in the school quiz contest programme.

In Nepal school classes are in levels. For children to move up to the next level they have to pass the end of year exam. If they do not pass they have to repeat the year. If the government funds your school some books are supplied but only the first time you sit a year, if you have to repeat the year you would have to buy all your own books.

We would like to thank the many individuals and syndicates who donate to our teaching fund. Without these valuable donations we would be unable to provide the children with an education.

We have set out below our class photographs from nursery to 5, followed by the photograph of our dancers along with other school related photos.

Nursery Class

Here you can see Sunita Pariyar, the class teacher on the right and her teaching assistant Bisnu Sirmal, on the left. They are photographed outside our new school building with our early year class.

Thanks go to Lansdowne School syndicate for sponsoring Sunita’s work and Regal Paints Derbyshire for sponsoring Bisnu

Class 1

Rajun Sirmal, the class teacher, has been with us since August 2004. He is pictured here with his tutor class, class one and as you can see it is a very large class. In Nepal the number of children in a class has recently lowered to 44!

Rajun is undergoing additional training before school from 6-9.30am. He is a hard working member of the school staff and we are lucky to have him.

Thanks go to the Horndon syndicate for sponsoring Rajun’s work.

Class 2

Shom has been with us since 2003. He is also under going additional training with Rajun and Ram. Shom is married with one son, called Sachin who is attending our nursery class.

Class 3

Ram has been with us since 2002. As with Rajun and Shom he is also undertaking the additional training. Ram is married with one son called Ajay who was born in March 2003. His wife is Bisnu our learning support assistant in the nursery class. (See picture of nursery class above)

Thanks go to Westhill Primary School’s staff syndicate for sponsoring Ram

Class 4

Rita has been with us since 2001, she is a mathematics specialist and also teaches both English and Environmental Studies. She is single and lives at home with her mum and younger sister.

Class 5

Sarita has been with for five years now. She is our Principal Teacher, she is well organised and has a clear vision for our school. Sarita has many interests in Gorkha, she helps with the local ‘Woman’s Institute’ as well as the ‘Youth for the Environment’ group who help to run the clinic at our school.

Sarita is our first member of staff to be government funded! We are very grateful for this and very happy.
